Grassland

• The grassland biome divides into temperate grasslands and savannas. 

• The grassland biome consists of various types of grasses and small hills.

• It is not uncommon to find small trees in the grasslands.

Task: Collect pictures of 5 animals who live in the Grassland biome.

Grass lands are also known as prairies.pampas,steppes and savannas.  Grassland biomes are normally between a forest and a desert.  

Desert Biome

 

• The main characteristic of the desert biome is the lack of / little vegetation. 

• Deserts have a very hot or very cold climate. 

• Deserts in Africa are very hot and humid. They receive very little rainfall and plants do not grow well. 

 Collect 5 pictures along with the names of 5 animals who live in desert.

Tundra Biome

 

• The tundra is the coldest of all the biomes. 

• The tundra biome receives little rain—even less than the desert. 

• Temperatures are very cold/frigid in the tundra biome. 

• Plants and animals that live in the tundra have adapted to the harsh climate.

Task: Collect 5 animals with their names who live in Tundra biomes.

The tundra biome is an ecosystem located in the north pole. The biome surrounds the arctic circle and is the coldest biome of all on earth. The normal temperature is below -34 degrees. The tundra biome is in the north pole which means there are lots of animals that live in the north pole like the animals above.

Aquatic Biomes

 

• Refers to the plants and animals that live in the water. 

• The aquatic biome divides into freshwater and saltwater.

• Freshwater biomes include ponds, lakes, streams, rivers, wetlands. 

• Saltwater biomes include the ocean and estuaries.

Task: Collect 3 pictures of aquatic animals who live in freshwater biomes and Saltwater. (Write their names along with the picture).
